Frequently Asked Questions
What is an extraction cone?
Anchor 1 is made up of a Ø1< Ø2 diameter disk at a depth of H1>H2.
Anchor 2 is made up of a Ø1>Ø2 diameter disk at a depth of H2<H1.
When the anchor is subject to pull stress, the ground is compressed and forms an extraction cone above the drive disk.
I.e. S2 the surface of the extraction cone caused by anchor 2.
I.e. S1 the surface of the extraction cone caused by anchor 1.
We note that surface S1 is larger than surface S2 (despite anchor 2’s larger diameter disk).
Anchor 1’s pull resistance is greater than anchor 2.
